Originally founded in the mid 1980’s by reinsurance executive Paul S. Mavros, The Pauls Foundation is officially recognized as a Federal Non-profit Foundation under the 501(c) 3 Internal Revenue Service organizational code.
The Pauls Foundation offers granting opportunities mainly to arts organizations where our funding will make a marked difference in their programming. Traditionally, we have funded mostly Midwestern USA organizations; however, we will take grant applications from organizations that lie outside the Midwestern United States and determine the outcome individually.
The Foundation serves four individual sectors for grant applications. These include:
- Fine Arts Grants, including vocal, instrumental and theatrical arts
- Art Student Scholarships, offered to the supporting organizations or schools
- Funding for traditional grand style Opera Production
- Funding for Smaller or Lower Budget Arts Organizations, who do not typically receive governmental or large corporate support
Some overlapping between sectors may occur, particularly if a Fine Arts Grant is considered for a smaller or lower budget arts organization.
